Laboratory/Waste Treatment Technician

Summary
The Laboratory/Waste Treatment Technician reporting to the Chemical/Environmental Control Manager will operate and maintain the Waste Treatment Plant in a manner that complies with the facility’s EPA NPDES permit requirements. This position is also responsible for the analysis of the chemical process to ensure the systems are capable of processing product properly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all wastewater treatment equipment.
- Monitor and maintain environmental documents to meet environmental regulatory permitting requirements.
- Treat acidic rinse water, acid, and caustic in continuous and reactor batch systems.
- Collect environmental samples as required to comply with EPA permit requirements.
- Conduct environmental inspections as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of facility and equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Ohio EPA Class I Operator Wastewater Treatment Certification required.
- Previous experience in operating a wastewater treatment system preferred.
- Capable of being trained, or have the ability to read blueprints (structural, piping, electrical, schematic) and drawings.
- Knowledge related to operations of hydraulics, pump systems, basic chemistry, and ability to use a computer utilizing Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) preferred.
- Able to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Possess excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
