Summary

Our client is growing rapidly and is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer in the cold storage industry with a sales focus in Massachusetts to support its growth!

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
  • Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess requirements for the project needs and ensure contract compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain capabilities to customers and prospective customers.
  • Create sales or service contracts for company capabilities.
  • Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
  • Work with estimating and design team for each of the project requirements.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers through site visits, management presentations, events to build loyalty and to demonstrate the company’s value proposition.
  • Prospecting for new customer, research and identify potential customers for project opportunities.
  • Share sales-related or market information with colleagues.
  • Discuss design or technical features of products or services with technical personnel.
  • Gather customer or product information to determine customer needs.
  • Deliver promotional presentations to current or prospective customers.
  • Develop content for sales presentations or other materials.
  • Explain technical product or service information to customers.
  • Contact current or potential customers to promote products or services.
  • Prepare sales or other contracts.
  • Arrange delivery of goods or services.
  • Travel approx. 25-50%
  • Expenses reimbursed
  • Laptop/phone provided
  • Position will consist of warm leads and cold calling but will primarily rely on relationship building and existing relationships.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must understand construction methods.
  • Must have good mathematical aptitude, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with computer spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret construction plans and help generate project estimates.
  • Knowledge in the construction industry as it pertains to cold storage and clean rooms, life science industry projects is a plus.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively.

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree with emphasis on construction and project management experience, and/or HVAC engineering experience is required. 
  • 2 plus years’ construction experience including project management skills is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and background check required.
